Natural Options Show Ability To Combat Enterovirus Outbreak

A growing number of children across the United States are being admitted to the hospital due to severe respiratory infections. Andaccording to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the cause is an outbreak of an uncommon strain of the enterovirus — EV-D68.
EV-D68 was first isolated in California in 1962, and primarily causes a mild to severe respiratory illness, although it is also associated with febrile rash illness, and neurological illnesses — meningitis and encephalitis. Currently, there are no known antiviralmedications to treat EV-D68, nor a vaccine to prevent it. Many infections are self-limiting and require only the management of symptoms; however, some cases require hospitalization and treatment in an intensive care unit.
With no viable treatment options from Western medicine, many parents are concerned about their children’s health and the possibility of being infected with EV-D68. As is often the case, Mother Nature has provided a possible answer to what ails us — antiviral essential oils and extracts.
In 2012, Tunisian researchers investigated the activity of eight eucalyptus species against several pathogenic organisms. The researchers concluded that eucalyptus oils that are rich in the compound 1,8-cineole “may serve as potential candidates against enterovirus infections.” Their research was published in the June 2012 edition of BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Eucalyptus globulus is commonly used to produce essential oil and contains up to 83 percent 1,8-cineole (also known as eucalyptol). Steam inhalation or diffusion of eucalyptus may allow essential oil particles to enter the lung and respiratory system to combat enteroviruses. In addition, the topical application of eucalyptus on the chest and back may support normal respiratory system function. Eucalyptus should not be used by those with epilepsy, or on children under age six — very rarely, children under age six could experience respiratory distress or central nervous system problems with eucalyptus.

Rosemary Is For Rememberance - Science Confirms Wisdom of the Ancients

                    "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance..."
~ William Shakespeare

Since ancient times, herbs have been appreciated for their profound therapeutic effects.Science as a form of evidence-gathering did not take the epistemological pole position until quite recently in cultural history, with the evidence of direct experience and the senses being the method and the means for ascertaining the medicinal value of plant medicines and foods for countless generations stretching back to the dawn of the human experience.
Rosemary, a small perennial shrub in the mint family, is one such example, a plant woven deeply into ancient history and mythology, providing clues and hints to its particular value in cognition, memory and enhanced sensorial awareness, and ultimately its sacredness, which literally means "holy," a word that also shares etymological roots with "whole," "healthy" and "heal."
Several examples include:
  • "Greek scholars wore rosemary in their hair to help remember their studies, and the association with remembrance has carried through to modern times. In literature and folklore it is an emblem of remembrance." [Source]
  • "On ANZAC Day, a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, the wearing of small sprigs of rosemary in the coat lapel, pinned to the breast or held in place by medals is thus synonymous with remembrance and commemoration." [Source]
  • "Rosemary (R. officinalis L., Family Lamiaceae) is native to the Mediterranean region, where the ancient Greeks revered it for stimulating the brain and assisting memory; Dioscorides wrote of rosemary: "the eating of its flower in a preserve comforts the brain, the heart and the stomach; sharpens understanding, restores lost memory, awakens the mind, and in sum is a healthy remedy for various cold ailments of the head and the stomach." [Source]
  • "Legend says that the Virgin Mary, while resting, spread her cloak over a white flowering rosemary bush. The flowers turned the blue of her cloak, and from then on the bush was referred to as the "Rose of Mary". [Source]
Today, through the optic of science and human clinical studies, we can further test the wisdom of the ancients through placebo-controlled and randomized trials. This is the 'holy grail' of so-called"evidenced-based" medicine, and confers a type of gravitas in today's medical practice that is considered essential in informing treatment decisions and establishing their legality vis-à-vis the regulatory bureaucracies (e.g. FDA, AMA) that increasingly attempt to control what you can and cannot do with your body.

Science Grows Up: Remembering The Wisdom of the Ancients

All the more reason why a recent study published in The Journal of Medicinal Food, titled "Short-Term Study on the Effects of Rosemary on Cognitive Function in an Elderly Population," is so important and confirmatory of traditional plant-based medical practice.
The study sought to investigate the role of rosemary in reducing cognitive decline in elderly subjects (average age 75 years).
Subjects enrolled in this randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded, crossover study were administered several different dosages of dried rosemary leaf powder and evaluated for changes in cognitive performance.

The study design was as follows:
"Twenty-eight older adults (mean age, 75 years) were tested using the Cognitive Drug Research computerized assessment system 1, 2.5, 4, and 6 hours following a placebo and four different doses of rosemary. Doses were counterbalanced, and there was a 7-day washout between visits."

The results were reported as follows:
"There was a biphasic dose-dependent effect in measures of speed of memory: the lowest dose (750 mg) of rosemary had a statistically significant beneficial effect compared with placebo (P=.01), whereas the highest dose (6,000 mg) had a significant impairing effect (P<.01). There were significant deleterious effects on other measures of cognitive performance, although these were less consistent. Speed of memory is a potentially useful predictor of cognitive function during aging. The positive effect of the dose nearest normal culinary consumption points to the value of further work on effects of low doses over the longer term."

COPAIBA BENEFITS SUPPORTED BY SCIENTIFIC STUDIES

Although this plant is not new to Brazil, the modern world is only coming to understand its vast effects in healing a variety of conditions. Copaiba ( C. langsdorffii, officinalis, reticulata) has long been used in South America, predominantly in the Amazons. The 35 species of Copafeira are found in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Guyana, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela (1).
The medicinal oleoresin is harvested by drilling or tapping the cavity of the tree trunks, making this a sustainable rainforest resource. The ancient traditional use came about as indigenous tribes observed injured animals healing their wounds on the stems of the trees. The tribes began using Copaiba on the navels of newborns and wounds (2).
Since its first recorded medicinal use in 1625, Copaiba has grown more and more in popularity. Its curative benefits have led it from being used by Brazilian Amazonia healers for pain, inflammation, skin disorders and insect bites, to its modern popular use in cosmetics and soaps. (1)
Many studies have been done proving Copaiba’s oleoresin scientific healing properties. Chemical compounds including sesquiterpenes and diterpenes are what makes up a great portion of the oleoresin. Studies show the varying biological activities, ranging from acne relief to anticancer and anti-tumor effects (2).

Did you know that copaiba oil known to have some of the highest levels of beta-caryophyllene in the world?
Yes it has been documented to contain 50 percent beta-caryophyllene.Helichrysum and Clove essential oils that are praised for their anti-inflammatory compounds have 5 to 12 percent of the same compound!
What is beta-caryophyllene?
Beta-caryophyllene has been extensively studied for its ability to modulate the inflammation process. The significance is that it is approved by the FDA as the first dietary cannabinoid (substance that naturally occurs in the nervous and immune systems).
Other essential oils besides helichrysum and clove that contain beta-caryophyllene are basil, oregano, black pepper, rosemary and cinnamon bark oils.
Copaiba also contains alpha-humulene and gamma elemine. Alpha humulene is known for its ability to minimize the body’s response to irritation.
Most Interesting Historical Reference?
Did you know that copaiba resin is used by indigenous tribes as a wound healer, to stop bleeding, and for skin sores and psoriasis? Yes, and today healers of the Amazon use copaiba resin for skin disorders, pain, insect bites and to cool inflammation!
What are the Plant Properties? Analgesic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, stimulant (circulatory and pulmonary systems).
What are the Documented Uses and Benefits of Copaiba Oil? Inflammation (external and internal), respiratory problems (bronchitis, sinusitis), skin disorders, urinary tract, bladder and kidney conditions (cystitis, infection) bleeding, hemorrhages, sore throats, stomach ulcers, tonsillitis, tumors, herpes gonorrhea, pain and insect bites.

Study: Essential Oils and Coconut Oil Effective For Skin Disorders on Dogs

Does your dog suffer from itching skin? Would you like to help your pet with natural therapies?
One of the most common problems that dogs experience is pruritus or itchy skin. In a study published in April, 2014, veterinary researchers confirmed that essential oils could be successfully used to resolve one of the common causes of itchy skin in dogs.
Pruritus is the medical term used to define a dog’s sensation to itch, or the sensation that provokes its desire to scratch, rub, chew, or lick its hair and skin. Pruritus is also an indicator of inflamed skin. Intense scratching can eventually lead to partial or full hair loss.[1]

Causes of Itching and Scratching

There can be many causes for itching and scratching. These include external parasites such as “fleas, Cheyletiella, scabies, Demodex, lice or poultry mites”[2] and fungal/yeast growth on the skin. The diagnostic services of a veterinarian are helpful for determining the exact cause of the itching. Different causes will require different treatments. You can learn more about the causes of itching by using the resource links at the end of this article.
Pruritus is most commonly found in dogs, but can sometimes be present in cats. The skin in certain areas can become red, inflamed, and infected. This situation can make pet quite miserable.

Malassezia Dermatitis is One of the Common Causes of Itchy Skin

I will be discussing the exciting findings of a new research study published in France, which used a blend of essential oils to eliminate the itching that is caused by Malassezia dermatitis. Malassezia dermatitis is a reaction to a specific fungus/yeast called Malassezia, which is normally present on the skin of dogs. Under certain conditions the population of Malassezia can either become too great, which causes the itching, or the dog develops an immune system reaction, which causes the itching and scratching.

Research Using Essential Oils to Treat Malassezia Dermatitis

The results of research [5] published in April, 2014, in the Journal of Medical Mycology demonstrated the benefits of using essential oils for treating Malassezia dermatitis. The researchers treated 20 dogs with dermatitis caused by Malassezia pachydermatis. They used a blend of essential oils containing bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) 1%, lavender (Lavandula officinalis) 1%, oregano (Origanum vulgare) 0.5%, marjoram (Origanum majorana) 0.5%, peppermint (Mentha piperita) 0.5% and Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum var. italicum) 0.5%. These essential oils were mixed into a base of sweet almond oil and coconut oil.
This mixture of oils was topically applied to twenty animals twice daily for 1 month. Another group of ten animals was treated with a conventional therapy based on ketoconazole given at a rate of 10mg/kg per day and 2% chlorhexidine given twice a week for 3 weeks. At the end of the treatment periods, researchers found that both groups of animals had significant improvements in their clinical status without adverse effects. They conducted follow-up visits 6 months later to observe whether there was a recurrence of the original disease condition, and found that both groups retained their clinical improvements.
The overall minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) when used on the fungus/yeast of the skin was 0.3%. O. vulgare showed the lowest minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC), being active at 0.8%, followed by M. piperita (1%), O. majorana (1.3%), C. aurantium (2%) and L. officinalis (4%) while H. italicum [Helichrysum] did not yield any antimycotic effect up to 10%. Active major compounds were thymol, carvacrol, p-cymene, 1,8-cineol, limonene and menthol.[6]

Using Essential Oils to Bring about Homeostasis and Cure Diseases

Did you know that you can use the fragrant essential oils of plants to cure diseases? The spicy aroma of fresh basil, the sweet fragrance of a rose, the savory smell of oregano, and thousands of other volatile oils from plants are not just pleasant to smell, but are powerful medicines. Many plants can help us heal, but those which contain aromatic oils occupy a special place in natural medicine. Here is some basic information that will help you select and use the healing essential oils.
Dr. David Stewart, Ph.D., D.N.M. Integrated Aromatic Science Practitioner, indicates that there are approximately 500,000 plant species on planet earth, but only 18,000 (3.6%) have the means to produce essential oils. He describes the function of these fragrant essential oils in his book, The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple: God’s Love Manifest in Molecules.
Dr. Stewart describes the role of essential oils, their regulation of bodily functions, and how they create homeostasis in plants and in humans:
Essential oils have been called “the life blood of a plant.” They circulate through plant tissues and pass through cell walls, carrying nutrition into cells and carrying waste products out. [Page 59]
When essential oils are applied to people, they do the same thing, carrying oxygen into cells and carrying waste products out. In fact, essential oils are one of nature’s best body cleansers. They can cleanse our cellular receptor sites of pharmaceutical drugs, petrochemicals, and other disruptors of intercellular communication. They can also chelate heavy metals and other toxins, helping to remove and flush them through the liver, colon, sweat, lungs, and kidneys. They can also increase our ability to absorb vitamins and other nutrients. [Page 59]
Essential Oils are Regulators of Many Functions
Essential oils act as plant hormones, regulating plant functions and orchestrating the production of vitamins and enzymes. They act as messengers and supervisors within the plant that help coordinate and initiate vital plant activities. Essential oils can also do the same when applied to humans. They can act as neurotransmitters, peptides, steroids, hormones, enzymes, vitamins, and other message-carrying molecules (called ligands) which intelligently assist our bodily functions and help to restore or maintain wellness. [Page 59]
Essential Oils Possess Homeostatic Intelligence
Homeostasis is that state where every vital biological process within a living organism is functioning as it should. It is a state of perfect wellness. Essential oils always work toward restoring and maintaining balance and homeostasis, first in the plants who create them, and then in the humans who apply them. [59]
To say that an essential oil works toward balance and homeostasis means that the same oil can work in different directions depending on the needs of the plant or person. Oregano oil (Origanum vulgare) will kill hostile microbes while nurturing those that are friendly. Angelica oil (Angelica archangelica) can stimulate a uterus to contract or to relax depending on the need. Myrtle oil (Myrtus communis) is an adaptigen that can stimulate an increase or a decrease in thyroid activity depending on a person’s condition. [Pharmaceutical] drugs are incapable of such intelligent discriminations and act only in preprogrammed directions. [Pages 59-60]

What exactly is an Essential Oil?

Dr. Stewart answers this question:
An essential oil is the volatile lipid (oil) soluble portion of the fluids of a plant containing odiferous compounds produced by steam distillation of vegetable plant matter. Plant matter can be any part of a botanical species including stems, branches, fruits, flowers, seeds, roots, bark, needles, leaves, etc. During the distillation process, the vapors are condensed, collected, and separated from the condensation water. The residual water, containing traces of oil constituents, is called a “floral water” or “hydrosol,” and has therapeutic applications of its own. [Page 51]
Essential oils are mixtures of hundreds of compounds. For example, it has been found that orange oil (Citrus sinensis) contains 34 alcohols, 30 esters, 20 aldehydes, 14 ketones, 10 carboxylic acids, and 36 varieties of terpenes, including mono-, sesqui- , di- and tetraterpenes. And this is not a complete analysis. In fact, no essential oil has ever been completely analyzed to reveal its every constituent.  [Page 51]
Essential oils are so complex, it may never be possible to discover everything that is in even one of them. [Page 52]

Only High Quality Essential Oils can Heal

Only the highest quality essential oils have the capacity to promote healing. The plants that are used as the raw material for essential oils must be healthy and clean. The processing methods must preserve the natural qualities of the essential oil. The essential oil that results must be 100% natural and 100% pure. Nothing should be added and nothing should be removed from the essential oil after it is processed.

Quality of Plant Materials

First, the quality of the plant material that is used to produce the essential oil is critical. Plant sources should be either certified organic or wild. Wild plant sources should be from a clean environment, and plants should not have been exposed to chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Chemicals applied to conventionally grown plant materials can end up in the essential oil and be part of the final product that is sold to consumers. This should always be avoided.

Quality of Processing

The process that is used to extract the essential oil from the plant material is critical. High quality essential oils are processed using a low temperature distillation method. When low temperature distillation is used, the temperature of the volatile elements in the plant material will be kept below its boiling point, which prevents decomposition of the essential oil. This means that the characteristics of the essential oil molecules that result from distillation will be very similar to those that were in the plant. A few essential oils, such as citrus oils are mechanically pressed from the peel of the fruit.

Essential Oils Make Superior Wound Antiseptics – and Combat MRSA

Good wound dressings are critical to preventing severe infections after an injury. Recent research has confirmed that applying antiseptic essential oils makes for a great alternative to antibiotic creams and other dressings, which often produce antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.

The first study, from the Polytechnical University of Bucharest, tested surgical wound bandages supplied by a German wound dressing provider with biofilms of Candida albicans.
The researchers grew the biofilms and applied them to wound bandages that were either coated with essential oils from Salvia officinalis (Sage) and Anethum graveolens (Dill) or a conventional antiseptic dressing.

The essential oils provided significant inhibition against the Candida fungi.
The Anethum graveolens essential oil was found to contain antimicrobial compounds such as limonene, carvone and phellandrene, while Salvia officinalis was found the contain thujone, eucalyptol, pinene and camphene. These compounds have each been independently tested in other studies and found to have significant antimicrobial potency.

Another recent study also found essential oils provide a superior antimicrobial activity when applied with wound dressings. Polish university researchers utilized a formula of four essential oils, and found they significantly inhibited the growth of both Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.

Researchers From University of Leicester Discover Cancer-killing Properties of Frankincense In Ovarian Cancer

Researchers from the University of Leicester have, for the first time, demonstrated the potential of treating ovarian cancer using the Christmas gift frankincense.

Frankincense, along with gold and myrrh, is one of the most famous Christmas presents in history, and is a fragrant plant resin extracted from the Boswellia sacra tree found across Africa and Arabia. Using the compound AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) derived from the resin, the research, funded by the Omani government, has successfully shown its potential effectiveness in targeting ovarian cancer, the fifth most common cancer in females in the UK.

More specifically, they have been able to demonstrate the ability of AKBA to combat cancer cells in late-stage ovarian cancer which is extremely pertinent in Oman where ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late due to a lack of visible symptoms and education on what to look for, making treatment difficult.

Lead researcher Kamla Al-Salmani, PhD student from the University's Department of Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine explained: "After a year of studying the AKBA compound with ovarian cancer cell lines in vitro, we have been able to show it is effective at killing the cancer cells.  Frankincense is taken by many people with no known side effects. This finding has enormous potential to be taken to a clinical trial in the future and developed into an additional treatment for ovarian cancer."

Frankincense has been used as a folk medicine for centuries due to its anti-inflammatory properties, making it a viable treatment for asthma, skin conditions and gastroenteritis among others. Previous studies have also successfully linked AKBA as a potential treatment for many other cancers, including colon, breast and prostate cancer; however this is the first study to demonstrate its potential in combating ovarian cancer.

Dr Mark Evans, Kamla's PhD Supervisor and Lecturer in the University's Department of Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine added: "We have shown that this frankincense compound is effective at killing ovarian cancer cells at realistic concentrations. What has been most surprising is that the cells we have tested which are resistant to chemotherapy have shown to be more sensitive to this compound, suggesting frankincense may indeed be able to help overcome drug resistance, and lead to an improved survival rate for patients with late-stage ovarian cancer."
Now that the researchers have identified its potential in targeting ovarian cancer cells, they are seeking further understanding of its cancer-killing mechanisms in order to inform on new drugs to take to clinical trial in the future.

When Your Skin Smells Sandalwood Oil, It Heals Itself

Your nose isn’t the only part of your body capable of taking a whiff.
In the past decade, scientists have discovered olfactory receptors lingering in strange places—in sperm, in the spine, and even in the kidneys. Now researchers in Hanns Hatt’s lab at Germany’s Ruhr University Bochum have identified scent receptors somewhere much more accessible: the skin. What’s more, these receptors appear to be involved in healing.

In other words, your skin has the ability to smell, just not in the way we normally think of. Instead, certain odorants target “smelling” receptors in the skin, which prompt the healing process. Of course, just as one nose is different from another, so are the scent receptors in our skin. One person’s genetics might predispose them to greater olfactory sensitivity than another’s.
This discovery is another example of our skin’s unexpected abilities. This week, NOVA Next contributor Sujata Gupta reported on the skin’s ability to “hear” sound. And new findings about our sense of touch, too, have illuminated a possible sensory-social dimension of autism. In the future, we might see a growing number of treatments channeled through the skin, whether they are topical solutions or otherwise.
My Note:  In this article the author talks about synthetic Sandalwood.  If they are having these results with synthetics....just think what the results could be using a Pure Unadulterated Sandalwood Oil!

Cinnamon May Be Used To Halt Progression Of Parkinson's Disease, Study Suggests

Neurological scientists at Rush University Medical Center have found that using cinnamon, a common food spice and flavoring material, can reverse the biomechanical, cellular and anatomical changes that occur in the brains of mice with Parkinson’s disease (PD). The results of the study were recently published in the June 20 issue of the Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology.

Ciinnamon has been used widely as a spice throughout the world for centuries,” said Kalipada Pahan, PhD, study lead researcher and the Floyd A. Davis professor of neurology at Rush. “This could potentially be one of the safest approaches to halt disease progression in Parkinson’s patients.
Cinnamon is metabolized in the liver to sodium benzoate, which is an FDA-approved drug used in the treatment for hepatic metabolic defects associated with hyperammonemia,” said Pahan. It is also widely used as a food preservative due to its microbiocidal effect.
Chinese cinnamon (Cinnamonum cassia) and original Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamonum verum) are two major types of cinnamon that are available in the US.
Although both types of cinnamon are metabolized into sodium benzoate, by mass spectrometric analysis, we have seen that Ceylon cinnamon is much more pure than Chinese cinnamon as the latter contains coumarin, a hepatotoxic molecule, said Pahan.
Understanding how the disease works is important to developing effective drugs that protect the brain and stop the progression of PD,” said Pahan. “It is known that some important proteins like Parkin and DJ-1 decrease in the brain of PD patients.
The study found that after oral feeding, ground cinnamon is metabolized into sodium benzoate, which then enters into the brain, stops the loss of Parkin and DJ-1, protects neurons, normalizes neurotransmitter levels, and improves motor functions in mice with PD.
This research was supported by grants from National Institutes of Health.
Now we need to translate this finding to the clinic and test ground cinnamon in patients with PD. If these results are replicated in PD patients, it would be a remarkable advance in the treatment of this devastating neurodegenerative disease, said Dr. Pahan.
Parkinson's disease is a slowly progressive disease that affects a small area of cells within the mid-brain known as the substantia nigra. Gradual degeneration of these cells causes a reduction in a vital chemical neurotransmitter, dopamine. The decrease in dopamine results in one or more of the classic signs of Parkinson's disease that includes: resting tremor on one side of the body; generalized slowness of movement; stiffness of limbs; and gait or balance problems. The cause of the disease is unknown. Both environmental and genetic causes of the disease have been postulated.
Parkinson's disease affects about 1.2 million patients in the United States and Canada. Although 15 percent of patients are diagnosed before age 50, it is generally considered a disease that targets older adults, affecting one of every 100 persons over the age of 60. This disease appears to be slightly more common in men than women.

SUMMARY:  Using cinnamon, a common food spice and flavoring material, can reverse the biomechanical, cellular and anatomical changes that occur in the brains of mice with Parkinson’s disease (PD), neurological scientists have found. “This could potentially be one of the safest approaches to halt disease progression in Parkinson’s patients,” the study's lead researcher said.

A Study on Autism and Young Living Essential Oils To Be Published in the American Medical Assoc. Journal

In a study conducted by Dr. Timothy Buie, a pediatric gastroenterologist from Harvard/Mass General hospital, forty-six patients between the ages of 5 and 31 were selected for inclusion in a study based on a diagnosis placing them in the category of the autism spectrum disorders, ADD and ADHD. Their diets were supplemented with a dietary enzyme formulation.
The results: The enzyme formula beneficially and safely affected all thirteen of the parameter measured. Improvements ranged from 50-90% depending on the parameters measured. The enzyme was effective at improving the symptoms such as socialization, hyperactivity, attention, eye contact, comprehension and compulsions.
For both ADHD/ADD and Autism, stimulation of the limbic region of the brain may also help treat these disorders. The aromas from Therapeutic Essential Oils have a powerful ability to stimulate this part of the brain, since the sense of smell is tied directly to the mind’s emotional and hormonal centers. As a result, the aroma of an essential oil has the potential to exert a powerful influence on ADD/ADHD and Autism.
In a two year case study (1999-2001), Dr. Terry Friedmann M. D. found significant results when children that had previously been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD were administered therapeutic essential oils by inhalation.
The essential oils of Brain Power, Vetiver, Lavender and Cedarwood were used. The oils were administered in this fashion: one oil was administered by inhalation 3 times per day for 30 days. An inhalation device was also used at night to administer a continuous inhalation of oil.
Because the oils can be inhaled you can use a diffuser in your office as opposed to touching the children with the oils.
The inhalation of the oils proved to settle the children’s brain waves back into normal patters and improved their scholastic performance and behavioral patterns.
·  Lavender increased performance by 53%
·  Cedarwood increased performance by 83%
·  Vetiver increased performance by 100%.
This study will be published in the American Medical Association Journal. It is unfortunate that America’s children are having to suffer due to these unforeseen circumstances. There is a real hope for the children of our future with the Therapeutic Essential Oils and supplements. Essential oils have the ability to detoxify and oxygenate the body, something that research has been found to help these special children .

Oil Pulling With Coconut Oil Can Transform Your Dental Health

What is Oil Pulling and How Does it Work?

Oil pulling involves swishing oil around the mouth and has been used for thousands of years as an Indian folk remedy.
In order to oil pull, you put a tablespoon of oil in your mouth, then swish it around for 15-20 minutes.
The main benefit of doing this, is that it reduces the amount of harmful bacteria in the mouth.

There are actually thousands of different types of bacteria in the mouth. Some of them are friendly, others are not.
The bacteria in the mouth create a “biofilm” on the teeth – a thin layer that they use to adhere to the surface. This is what we know as “plaque.”
Having some plaque on your teeth is normal, but if it gets out of hand it can cause all sorts of problems, including bad breath, yellow teeth, gum inflammation, gingivitis and cavities.
The way oil pulling works is simple. When you swish the oil around your mouth, the bacteria “get stuck” in it and dissolve in the liquid oil.
Basically, you remove a large amount of the bacteria and plaque in your mouth each time you do this.

MindWise.....New Brain and Heart Supplement from Young Living Essential Oils

                                       Young Living Essential OIls

MindWise is a new brain and heart supplement that was unveiled at the YL Convention last week! Gary Young said it's a combination of Cardia Care and his formula to support the brain. He talked about mental atrophy and that when asked what they missed most in old age, individuals answered unanimously, THEIR MIND! It's incredibly exciting to have a supplement for the older brain! It's equally exciting that MindWise will provide support to brains of ANY age, suffering diminished cognitive function from various causes. I think we all know someone who can benefit from this kind of support, including ourselves!
MindWise combines exotic sacha inchi nut oil with a proprietary MindWise oil and Memory blends for a unique, powerful brain function-supporting serum. With a unique, quick-absorption emulsion delivery system and generous amounts of vitamin D3, MindWise is a premium supplement that supports improved memory function and overall cognitive health.*
